For those of you who know what you are doing, our server is: irc.tolkiengateway.net port: 6667 room: #SoulAssassins *NOTE* If you are using Windows XP and don't have administration privileges you will not be able to install mIRC.
If this is your first visit to the irc.tolkiengateway.net server you should register your nickname with their system. You can find instructions on how to do this once you arrive by typing:
/msg nickserv help register
Now start mIRC. If this is your first time please refer to this document for further setup instructions. Stay here for connecting and joining. Note that the document is not updated with our new server but by replacing the server and channel information with that from these instructions, you should have no trouble.
To connect to the server:server irc.tolkiengateway.net 6667
Once connected you may have to set your nick if not already done:
/nick NICKNAME
On your first visit you have to register your nick:
/msg nickserv register PASSWORD
To identify yourself (use the same password as above):
/msg nickserv identify PASSWORD
To join the channel:
/join #SoulAssassins
